PURPOSE:To facilitate a setting operation of a sound length and rhythm for a required melody sound generation by a method wherein a sound length code of a melody sound to be written in an RAM together with a sound scale code is defined in proportion to the operation time of an external operation member. CONSTITUTION:When switches S1, S2 are operated along with an operation of a write switch S4, a sound scale code is written in an RAM19 by means of an up down counter 21 for the scale use. Whereas, when a switch S3 is operated, a sound length code is written and defined in an RAM20 by means of a count of a counter 22 for the sound length use which is proportional to the operation time. At the same time, scale codes, sound length codes corresponding to the defined values in the RAMs 19, 20 are displayed on sound scale, sound length display parts 8, 9. And at the same time, they are listened to and confirmed through a speaker 18. With this constitution, setting of a required melody sound is easily performed and especially, setting operation for sound length and rhythm is easily performed. |
