PURPOSE:To obtain the titled vessel with improved toughness, corrosion and oxidation resistances, etc., by lining non-calcined brick prepared from a refractory material containing magnesian feedstock and carbonaceous material, metallic powder containing metallic Al and/or metallic Ca and specific boron compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective vessel can be obtained by lining, on part or the whole surface of a smelting vessel, non-calcined brick prepared from a mixture comprising (A) 100pts.wt. of a refractory material made up of (i) 70-97wt.% of magnesian feedstock and (ii) 30-3wt.% of carbonaceous material (e.g. graphite), (B) 1-10pts.wt. of either mixed or alloy powder comprising, as the essential component(s), metallic Al and/or metallic Ca, and metallic silicon and metallic magnesium, and (C) 0.5-10pts.wt. of a material selected from magnesium borate, calcium borate and aluminum borate. |
