To obtain uniform screening conditions, the phosphor particles are coated with a polymer before screening. This evens out nonuniformities in the surface constitution of different phosphors, which makes it possible to use phosphors from different manufacturers, or virgin and recovered phosphors, without changing the screening parameters in luminescent screen manufacture.
