PURPOSE:To enable cheap manufacture of high performance supersonic chip used for molten metal coating on the surface of an object or soldering utilizing supersonic vibration by connecting the tip part made of an anticorrosive metal such as Mo with the chip body made of mild steel etc. by friction welding. CONSTITUTION:When the surface of a steel strip is plated with molten zinc, or joint of metallic bodies is soldered, supersonic vibration is applied to the molten zinc or solder to form a strong coating layer or soldered layer. The supersonic vibration chip 4 used in this case is composed of a tip part 11 made of Mo, Mo alloy, W, Nb etc. which are high in corrosion resistance against molten zinc and molten solder and a chip body 10 made of cheap mild steel, stainless steel etc. To connect the tip part 11 with the body 10, the contact face of the both is friction welded, or friction welded after forming uneven part on the surface to be connected. By this way, a supersonic vibration chip which is free from loss of supersonic vibration at the contact face or corrosion due to molten zinc and solder can be manufactured at low cost. |
