1397377 Tube mills F L SMIDTH & CO AS 16 Jan 1974 [23 March 1973] 14214/73 Heading B2A An air-swept tube mill comprises a pregrinding chamber 9, at least one further grinding chamber 11 and a discharge chamber 14, connected by an internal by-pass 12 formed by a tube 10. Material preground in the chamber 9 passes through a sieve 16 and is swept along the bypass 12. Fine material is discharged via a tube 8. Scoops 13 or lifters in the chamber 14 return coarser material which drops out of the stream to the chamber 11. This material when further ground passes via the sieve in the chamber 11 into the bypass tube 12 and is thus returned to the discharge chamber. In one embodiment, material is delivered e.g. by a weigh feeder to an inlet chute (7) Fig. 1 not shown, and in another embodiment to a predrying unit 20 which includes a sieving diaphragm 21 fed with hot gas via an inlet 23. Coarse material is recycled from an external separator, not shown, via a pipe 26. A third embodiment includes an air separator wheel 30 with an additional gas supply via a hollow shaft 31. |
