PURPOSE:To ensure easy and accurate control of height for a rotary magnetic head although the track width may differ with each channel, by using the standard tape which contains the standard signals recorded intermittently on the self-track in the nonsignal section of the adjacent track pulse the recording tracks overlapping partially to each other. CONSTITUTION:The recording is carried out on the self-tracks TRB and TRA in the nonsignal section of the adjacent tracks TRA and TRB each having different track widths T1 and T2 on which an azimuth recording is given for the reference signal via the magnetic heads of different azimuth angles. Thus the self-tracks TRB and TRA in the section where the recording is carried out to the adjacent tracks mentioned above become the nonsignal section each, thus forming the standard tape TP on which an overlap recording is given partially. With use of this tape, a reproduction is performed by the VTR to be controlled, and thus the outputs of channels A and B reproduced through each of the tracks TRA and TRE become maximum. The height of the rotary head is controlled to secure a simultaneous increase/decrease for both outputs, and accordingly the height of the head can be controlled in an easy and accurate way even in case the magnetic tapes of different widths may be used. |
