The injection system is for an oil/air mixt. for an oil-fired heater, having a central burner nozzle (5) in the base of a burner pot (1). Concentric to the nozzle and above its outlet is a circular umbrella-shaped baffle plate (3). There can be several nozzles round the pot wall, each inclined to the base and also roughly tangential to the wall. The system can be used with a forced-draught burner, typically having a centrifugal fan driven by an electric motor, which has at its opposite shaft end an injection pump, to which a low-pressure oil pump is flange-mounted.
