The filter lid consists of a cap with an external thread (4) which screws into the main body of the filter housing. The cap includes the inlet and outlet connections and has integral cast passages. The inlet connection has a separate tapped sleeve (10) which is pressed in onto an 'O' ring (15) and is adjacent to the inlet passage. The inside of the lid has a central skirt with a sealing groove for the filter which connects with the outlet passage (8). The filter body is tightened onto the outside flange (5).
