Construction post is made up of lengths of angle iron (1) which are bolted together back to back using small iron connecting plates (2), junction elements (9) and/or end-pieces (8). The cross-section of the post presents a configuration of parallel pairs of arms which is identical to that of the end-piece (8) used, e.g. 90 degrees between adjacent plates (2) and/or the end-piece (8). The ends (5) of the horizontal (3) or the inclined beams (4) are lodged into the space between the arms and are bolted in position pref. using shims (6).
