PURPOSE:To impart antistaticity for a long term without unfavorably affecting photographic characteristics, by providing a gelatin containing layer containing a specified surfactant reactive with gelatin on a base. CONSTITUTION:A surfactant reactive with gelatin represented by formula I (p=9) or II (p=20) has in one molecule one or more long chain hydrophobic groups; one or more hydrophilic groups selected among an anionic group, a cationic group, an amphoteric group and a nonionic group; and one or more groups reactive with gelatin. Its surface tension in 1wt% aqueous solution is 40 dyne/cm or less. The surfactant is dissolved in a solvent such as water, methanol, or acetone. This solution is added to a coating solution for a silver halide emulsion layer, an interlayer, a surface protective layer, etc. in an amount of 0.1-10g surfactant per 100g gelatin, and coated on a base to form a gelatin containing layer. |
