<p>A pressure vessel supported on a vertical column is clamped into contact with an assembly of filter cloths, screens and a sealing base contg. a discharge hole for liq. When the filtering of solids from the liq. is complete, the base which through a resilient layer rests on a hydraulically or pneumatically operated jack is lowered vertically. The pressure vessel is then tilted, pref. through 45 degrees, about the bolt in a forked hinge attached to the vertical support column. Easier and safer access is provided for cleaning or replacing the filter unit than in known appts. where the upper container was left in place and only the base lowered or tilted.</p> |
