<p>The rear crash frame for a lorry has a flat strip across the rear of the lorry, in an upright setting, and with the top and bottom lips bent outwards to form a U-shape (2,3). The lips are curved back on themselves and the ends are welded to the sides of the frame to form enclosed hollow edges (24,34). The design provides a sprung crash bar with max. strength and a lightweight construction. The enclosed rims prevent corrosion traps. The frame is covered with a moulded plastics strip and also serves to mount the lorry licence plate.</p> |
