Horizontal railway track and points support - is adjustable and contains elastic and rigid component

The railway track construction enables alteration of the horizontal track alignment. It is used where periodic correction is needed for rail positioning in ballast superstructure, according to horizontal and vertical traffic loading effects. The track support system is elastic. It pref. comprises a rigid and an elastic part, the latter being made of rubber, cork rubber or plastics, or comprising one or more steel springs. It may be T-shaped, with a window cut out from the cross beam for observation of the abutting joints. A spike can be used to fix the support against the sleeper. This provides durable horizontal setting, and vertical ballast.
