<p>The thrust enhancer is for a marine screw. It has a fixed cowl set behind the screw and is fitted with a set of (9,10) curved blades to counteract the swirl action of the water behind the screw. The resultant thrust or water jet is more streamlined and in the direction of action. The fixed blades are curved around the inside of the cowl in the opposing direction to the swirl. The water acts on the surfaces and generates some thrust from the swirl component. The device provides improved control for the rudder as well as providing a more economic generation of thrust.</p> |
