The cleaning installation is intended for an endless conveyor belt (1) and comprises an endless wiper belt (4) which is held in contact with the belt by a roller (5) and moves in the opposite direction. The belt passes over a second roller (6) and then through a cleaning trough (12) with an inlet (16) for the cleaning liquid (14). The trough is arranged below the second roller (6). A drip tray (20) is provided so that the belt (4) passes over it after moving through the trough and on its way to the roller (5). The tray may be separated from the trough by an overflow weir (18) and have a common outlet (22) for trough and tray.
