<p>The multi-layer anti-bedsore mattress comprises a top layer of thin plastics sheet with a number of closed sealed flexible pockets protruding from one of its faces. These pockets contain a gas, and support the body of the patient. Near the thiqhs of the patient, this layer (3) forms a bowl (2), with a hole in the bottom having a sealed joint to a pipe (6) passing through the mattress for the drainage of urine. The bowl can be formed by a further layer of material (1) under the top one and relatively thick, typically of foam material. The pipe can have a top flange (7) sealed to the top layer at the edge of the hole.</p> |
