Helical screw type pump - has inlet filter in extension of endplate for ease of fitting and access for maintenance

The pump has a casing within which three meshing helical screws propel liquid axially from the suction to the discharge end. A sleeve round the suction end of the screws separates them from the inlet connection. The endplate of the casing has an extension on it which houses a cylindrical filter. An axial passage in the endplate joins the inlet connection to the outside of the filter and a parallel passage joins the inside of the filter to the suction space between the screws. The filter is accessible through a cover plate on the end of the extension on the endplate.
