摘要 <p>The light modulator for space-time modulation by an optical control method comprises a crystal (1) of photoconducting material. The crystal of electro-optical photoconducting material has cubic symmetry and is provided with transparent electrodes (2) on two of its faces. The two parallel faces are exposed to light, and orientated between 10 and 80 degrees w.r.t. one of the principal axes of the crystal. The direction of propagation of light flux and the electric field intensity vector are parallel, the operation of the device being based on the transverse Pockels effect. The planes of the two surface electrodes, which are in direct electrical contact with the crystal itself, may coincide either with the (110) or (111) planes of the crystal.</p>
