TREATING METHOD OF RECOVERING CHAR FROM THERMAL DECOMPOSITION RESIDUE

PURPOSE:To make possible the continuous and easy recovery of char contained in thermal decomposition residues by adding with stirring an oily binder into the water decomposed with thermal decomposition residues, and dehydrating and granulating the floating aggregate. CONSTITUTION:Thermal decomposition residues a1 are admitted into a water slurry control device where they are disaggregated and dispersed. An oily binder (d) is added to the thus formed slurry (c), and the slurry is stirred with a high-speed stirrer 4. The high-speed stirring causes the oily binder to pulverize in the slurry (c) and these fine particles adhere on the surfaces of the lipophilic char dispersed in the slurry (c) and these adhere to each other to form aggregate (e). The mixed slurry is left standing to allow the aggregate (e) to float to the upper layer and allow ash content (g) to settle and separate. The aggregate (e) is sent to a dehydrating and granulating device 6 to undergo dehydrating and granulating simultaneously, after which the granules (i) are sent to a regeneration treating device, where the oily binder having adhered on the surface is washed away.
