A process is described for preparing oligomers from linear non-terminal olefins in the presence of a catalytic system comprising a strong inorganic acid, or its anhydride, deposited on a support having a surface area exceeding 50 m<2>/g, and gaseous BF3. The acid, preferably phosphoric, or its anhydride is present on the support, which is preferably carbon, silica or aluminum, in a quantity variable between 20 and 100 parts by weight per 100 parts of support. |
