In a base for a safety post comprising a base plate 1 and a leg 2 for driving into the ground, the leg 2 comprises two steel sheet pressings 4, 4<SP>1</SP> formed at their centres to half tubes 5, 5<SP>1</SP> and welded together at points 8 along longitudinal seams 9. The tube is formed with transverse slots at 10, 10<SP>1</SP>, 10<SP>11</SP> and so passed as to form downwardly tapering half tube portions therebetween. After the leg has been driven into the ground concrete may be added to the central tube and penetrates the slots 10. |
