The cell (2) comprises an electrolytic film (4) interposed between two insulating walls (8 and 10) maintained spaced from one another and each provided with an electrode (12 and 14) placed opposite one another, and a peripheral sealing wall (16). This cell further comprises a seating (28) placed in proximity to the wall (16) and insulated from the remainder of the cell (2) by a barrier (30) which is porous to the electrolyte. This barrier (30) may be associated with two other blocks (32) in such a manner as to serve as a thickness block. The seating (28) insulated from the remainder of the cell by means of the porous barrier (30) permits the captive retention of the gas bubble which may be formed in the course of the filling of the cell with electrolyte and in the course of high temperature operation.
