PURPOSE:To improve ignition efficiency by a method wherein DC voltage is applied to an ignition plug, the ignition plug is mainly discharged by a high voltage waved voltage and succeeding current by DC voltage are joined with a main discharge arc. CONSTITUTION:In a series circuit formed by a battery 1, a resistor 2, a capacitor 4 and a primary coil 6 of an ignition transformer 5, the electric charges of the capacitor 4 are discharged to the primary coil 6 when a thyristor 3 is ignited, high voltage waved voltage is generated at a secondary coil 7, an ignition plug 8 is mainly discharged, and sparks are generated. DC are generated at a DC generator 11 using the battery 1 as a power source at that time, the DC are charged to the capacitor, and charged electric charges pass through a reverse-current preventive diode 10, and are discharged employing the ignition plug 8, air insulation thereof is broken by main discharge, as a succeeding current point. |
