[Also in Division F1] In a table fan having its housing 1, Fig. 1, oscillated through an arm 5, pivoted at 4 to a stationary part of the fan, and an adjustable eccentric engaging the other end of the arm and driven by the fan motor, the eccentric has a casing 8 with an eccentric pin 7 on which the arm 5 is pivoted, and a disc 12 concentrically and rotatably supported in the casing 8 is rigidly mounted on a shaft 10 having the same eccentricity in relation to the disc 12 as the pin 7 has in relation to the casing 8. The shaft 10 is driven by the motor shaft (not shown) through reduction gearing 9 and an overload clutch 11. The eccentricity of the pin 7 with respect to the shaft 10 is adjusted, between a maximum value and zero, by rotating the casing 8 about the disc 12, the latter being retained in place in the groove 13 exclusively by friction. For this purpose the disc 12 or casing 8 may be made of a high friction material. The frictional effect may be supplemented by the engagement of the lower end of the shaft 10 with one of a number of notches 17 to 20, Fig. 2, in the wall 15 of a semi-circular recess in the casing 8. |
