PURPOSE:To improve the flame retardance, the electrical charaterictics, the punchability and the heat resistance of laminated sheets, by using the titled flame retarder obtained by the reaction of a phenol-formalin condensate condensed in a specified mole ratio with an organic phosphoromonobalodate. CONSTITUTION:A phenol-formalin condensate resulting from the condensation of one mole of a phenol with 0.6-2.5mol of formaldehyde or formalin, is reacted with an organic phosphoromonobalodate of formula I (wherein R<1>, R<2> are 1-5C alkyl, haloalkyl or alkylhalophenyl gp. of formula II, R<3> is H, 1-12C alkyl; X<1> is Cl, Br; n, m are 1-3) by a known method. The resulting phosphorus-contg. phenol-formalin condensate having a gel time of 40-600sec. at 150 deg.C is used as a flame retarder for thermosetting resins for laminated sheets. |
