1467958 Comminuting wood DEFIBRATOR AB 20 May 1974 [22 May 1973] 22455/74 Heading B2A Wood pulping apparatus comprises a rotatable disc bearing on at least one surface ribs bars or ridges, a retaining means for the wood to be pulped. As described eight stationary chambers surround the centre of the disc. Wood deliveries by a conveyor 35 Fig. 1 is released by pivoted supports 34. 35 on to a conveyor 24 at the centre of the disc. An appropriate wall 13 of a chamber is lifted and the chamber is charged with wood by a conveyor 24 Fig. 2 and the wood is then pressed down by a plate 18. The chambers are loaded sequentially. The feed can alternatively be from above the chambers by means not shown. The ribs or bars 8 Fig. 2 or 46 Fig. 3 are arranged radially and may be arranged on demountable segments made of steel or a metal alloy of same type. Water is supplied during grinding via pipes 45 and the water is typically at 40-90‹C with optional addition of pH controlling chemicals bleach or the like. |
