PURPOSE:To enable to combust carbon completely and to improve the thermal efficiency of an incinerator for gasifying waste rubber, by dividing the inner space of a furnace into a combusting section for gasifying rubber and a section for obtaining combustion stabilizing substances through combustion of carbon contained in the residue left after combustion of waste rubber. CONSTITUTION:Waste tires are put into the furnace from an inlet opening 7 and stacked at a lower portion of a main combustion chamber 5, in which rubber components of the waste tires are gasified by heat applied therein. The gas thus produced is combusted through contact with air supplied from a wind box 11 constituting a portion of the furnace wall and injected from air inlet ports 13 and then carried into a smokestack after it is cooled by exchanging heat while passing through a boiler-water chamber 12 and a flue section at the top of the furnace. When combustion and gasification of tires on an openable fire grate 14 is completed, carbon and wire are left thereon. However, they can be dropped into a gasifying regions by opening the grates 14, 15 successively. Here, steam or water is injected into the gasifying region from injection nozzles 18 for producing aqueous gas, which is carried to a combustion stabilizing burner 22 via a passage 23 together with gas produced in a carbon combusting region 2. |
