There is provided a molten metal holding vessel wherein the walls 11 and base 10 of said vessel are constructed of rigid ceramic plates. The vessel walls 11 along those edges along which they are connected to the base 10 are provided with joints of labyrinth form such as L- or Z-joints. Mutually co-acting joint surfaces are pressed against each other via an intermediate layer 15, 16 of felted ceramic sealing material by means of screws 17 engaging said ceramic plates. <IMAGE> |
