The directory comprises a housing (1) which encloses an opening drawer (2) on top of which are keys (3). The key selected is pressed to pivot a spring-loaded bar (7,8) and release the drawer. Each key has a projection (5) which contacts the unselected cards in the drawer and holds them as the drawer is opened. The drawer is fitted with a magnetised bar (11) at the front and this contacts magnetic strips on the selected cards and permits them to be retained as the drawer opens.
