<p>The couplings (1,2) are made in sizes to suit the beams (7,8) the edges (9,10) being turned down to fit over the beam. The couplings are fixed to the beams by bolts through the holes (5,6). The beams are connected by overlapping the two couplings and passing a bolt through the common hole (4). Indentations (14,15) are provided at equal intervals on a common pitch circle around the hole so that when the two couplings are overlapped the indentations of one (1) engage with those of the other (2). A cross beam can be assembled at the same time by bolting on a U-piece (3) using the same hole (4). The U piece also has indentations to match those of the other components.</p> |
