<p>(R)-Alpha-cyano-3-phenoxy-benzyl alcohol esters of formula 3-Ph-O-Ph-CH(CN)-OOC-A (I) are new. A is 2,2-dimethyl-3-Z1-3-Z2-cyclopropyl (Gp.II) or (Y)mPh-CH((CH3)2CH-)- (Gp.III); Z1 and Z2 are methyl or Z1 is H and Z2 is R1R2C:CR3- or R7R4R5C-CHR6-; R3 is H or halo; R1,R2 independently are halo or 1-8C alkyl or together form a 3-6C cycloalkyl, pyrrolidin-2-one, tetrahydrofuran-2-one or tetrahydrothiophen-2-one radical; R4,R5,R6,R7 independently are halo; the Y substd. on the phenyl ring is halo, 1-8C alkyl or 1-8C alkoxy and m is 0,1 or 2. (I) and their isomers or mixts. of isomers are used for control of animal, parasitic acarien. (I) are acaricides used to control ixodidae and sarcoptae e.g. ticks such as Boaphilus, Hyalomma, Amblyomma, Phipicephalus and sarcoptic, psoroptic and chorioptic mite. The compsns. are used to treat cattle, sheep, pigs, poultry, dogs, cats, etc.</p> |
