A hydraulic brake servo has a control piston (25) sliding inside a servo piston (3) and with a flow control valve as a slider (13) inside the end of the servo piston. The control piston and slider are coupled by a spring which enables both to act together when a set pressure is reached. The input thrust rod (24) is coupled to the brake rod (11) by a thrust bearing (39). The input thrust rod has a sliding fit through the control piston and is coupled to the slider via a spring. In the servo setting there is a limited amount of reaction through the rod to the brake pedal, limited by the cross sectional area of the piston, enabling a finer degree of brake control.
|
