<p>A self-supporting planar structural element, consists of a cardboard layer which on expansion forms a honeycomb pattern, and is enclosed between air permeable layers of a resin-impregnated chopped strand or needle loom mat. Along the rim or on places where a lamp is to be mounted, the three layers are tightly compressed. An internal decorative layer (a PCV foil lined with open-celled polyurethane foam) completes the element. This creates a self-supporting element of low unit wt. which has good acoustic properties. Prod. is used in pallet base, door panels, walls for prefabricated buildings and packaging material or as ceiling linings of motor car bodies.</p> |
