<p>A lever in the system provides a connection between two pedals. The lever comprises a shaft on which a ring slides to the end adjacent to the pivot of another lever. A spring located between the shaft and ring tends to push the ring against a shoulder. Pressure applied to the secondary pedal drives the ring and the other lever to rotate them around the main connecting shaft. The spring allows the degree of depression of the pedal to be visualised. If it is desired that movement of the primary pedal does not cause a movement of its associated secondary pedal, the spring must be removed.</p> |
