<p>The cavity of a packaging tube comprising a flexible tubular body sealed at one end and having a capped outlet at the other end is filled with a porous elastic flexible foam. Allows the tube to contain a low viscosity fluid without draining or spillage when the cap is removed; the fluid can be discharged by compressing the tube. Allows such tubes to be used as containers for materials more fluid than the usual paste or high viscosity liqs. Also, due to support by the internal foam, the tubes retain their shape better than hollow tubes if stored in bulk prior to being filled. Pref. the tube is made of aluminium coated with a thermoplastic material and the end of the tube is sealed by a weld to which the foam core is also bonded. Opt. the foam is generated in situ.</p> |
