Coking coal drying installation - uses superheated steam brought into direct contact with coal

The coal drier for coking coal has a drying chamber through which hot gas is continuously passed. Superheated steam at a temperature not exceeding 350 deg.C is used as the gas, and is brought into direct contact with the coal. The dust-laden superheated discharge steam can be cleaned in a filter and either returned to the fresh steam or used for heating the feed water for the steam generator.
