The carton blank with carrying handle is erected from two long folded opposing walls, as centre and top, and two cross-folded walls. The top wall (16) has a pre-punched double grooved flap (11) which is folded round the punched openings in the lower parts of the wall. On folding, the flap is held by a bottle in the centre to prevent the lid springing open. The lower layer of the cross-folded walls pref. has tongues and grooves to lock together when the box is erected. A glue strip (35) closure for the box may be formed from two superimposed strips arranged so that one passes over both opposing side edges of the top wall, and the second one only over the front edge of the wall and designed as a label etc.
