<p>Paper and cardboard are flame-proofed by impregnating or coating with a new fire-retardant compsn. contg., by wt., (a) 20-80% water, (b) 1-5% wetting agent, (c) 20-50% inorganic salts, esp. ammonium salts and phosphates, (d) 2-17% polyvinylidene chloride or polyester-urethane, (e) 0.1-1% size and opt. (f) standard additives and auxiliaries. Compsn. can be washed out. Efflorescence and compsn. enrichment at paper surface are prevented. Barrier properties are achieved, e.g. impermeability to water, steam, oil, fat and gases, to avoid negative influence on insulator plate properties.</p> |
