<p>The hydrodynamic torque transmission unit, particularly a hydrodynamic brake, has a toroidal chamber, to which inlet and outlet passages are connected. The degree to which the chamber is filled is adjustable to regulate the transmitted torque. A valve the inlet passage, regulating the inflowing liquid. On receipt of a command signal from a control, this valve first sets the flow to a high and then to a low rate. The valve has a multi-stage setting device, having several chambers which can be pressurised, so as to move it for different amounts from the rest position. There is an additional control which, on receipt of a "stage 1" command signal, first pressurises both chambers, and then releases pressure from one of them.</p> |
