<p>A flexible membrane material is in the form of a laminate of flexible foil and an elastomer-coated fabric. The fabric is a knitted or woven fabric (2) of twisted threads, onto which the elastomer (1) is sprayed. In a pref. embodiment, the fabric is a knit or weave of twisted threads of at least 100 denier, in which the twist coefft. (twists/10 cm times denier) is at least 200, and the distance between threads is at least 0.3 mm. In this pref. embodiment also, the ratio of tearing force (in kg.) to tensile strength (in kg/mm) of the membrane material is 7.62 mm, when tested according to ASTM D 751-68. Used as composite membrane material of the rubberised cloth type. The material possesses reduced weight and increased tearing strength.</p> |
