967,034. Hot-water boilers. H. VORKAUF. Dec. 13, 1962 [Feb. 21, 1962], No. 47181/62. Heading F4A. The combustion chamber 1 of a water tube hot-water boiler is defined by vertical side and rear wall tubes 2, 3 and front wall and roof tubes 4 which at their rear ends 4<SP>1</SP> are staggered to provide a gas inlet to a flue 13 disposed above the combustion chamber 1 and containing contact heating surfaces 14 formed of serpentine tube coils. The contact heating surface 14 is formed as an independent tube group having a feedwater inlet header 16 and discharges to unheated down pipes 11 which form part of the boiler framework. The down pipes 11 lead to distributing headers 5, 6, 7, the water then flowing through the radiant heating wall tubes 2, 3, 4 to upper collecting headers 8, 9 and to a final hot-water outlet 10. An aperture 15 is provided at the front end of the boiler for an oil burner. |
