PURPOSE:To obtain still pictures and their relative sound synchronously and successively, by automatically completing a repetitive scan for obtaining still pictures in response to the end of a sound signal output. CONSTITUTION:Recording track 2 on video disk 1 is formed spirally; one field of a video signal is FM-recorded at a track semicircle between points P1 and P2, and a time-compressed sound signal at a semicircle between points P2 and P3. A signal read out of the disk is demodulated by demodulating circuit 16 and the video signal obtained at intervals of one field and the time-compressed sound signal are extracted by video-signal-extraction processing circuit 33 and sound-signal-extraction processing circuit 34 while the sound signal is time-expanded. Then, the completion of the extraction of the sound signal is detected and the signal in the next field is read out. Therefore, the next video signal is never outputted before the end of the sound signal. |
