In large-scale plant for treating raw water with filter systems, entry of water into the filter tank is controlled by increasing or decreasing the size of an air lock in an inlet sluice. Sedimented water is discharged through a sluice with three changes of direction and which can be closed by an air lock during filtration. Filters are flushed via a common clean water channel supplied from several parallel filters, by lowering the water level in the filter needing flushing and increasing the clean water pressure by an air lock in an outlet sluice. |
