A cross-linkable polymeric material is shaped in the uncured state, cooled so that it undergoes a second-order transition and is converted into a glass-like state, and while in this glass-like state it is cross-linked by exposure to radiation without effecting thermal distortion thereof. The process is particularly applicable to SBR and neoprene. By this means very intricate shapes can be cured without damage. |
