<p>The jack is for use in a lorry inspection pit, being pref. hydraulically operated. It comprises two lifting rams (15,16) operated in synchronism, and a U-shaped gantry (6) whose legs (11,12) are coupled to the rams, while there are axle supports (19,20) on the cross-member (14), the latter extending roughly for the width of the pit. Each leg can be arranged to work in a protecting and guiding housing (9,10), either sliding in it or being supported by rollers. The housing can be movable in the lengthwise direction of the pit.</p> |
