PURPOSE:To render the color of a cathode-ray tube clear under daylight, and to increase its contrast by the use of pigment phosphor which is prepared by coating fluorescent granules with pigments of different colors, or by the coloring of a face glass. CONSTITUTION:A semispherical face-glass 3 is provided at one end of a vacuum chamber 1. The face glass 3 is prepared, for example, by combining a colored glass such as gray glass with pigment phosphor. The inner wall of the face glass 3 is covered with a fluorescent surface 2 made of the pigment phosphor, and the color of the face glass 3 varies according to the color of this pigment phosphor. |
