The lathe chuck has radially displaceable basic and clamping jaws. These are connected to a driven jaw via an axially displaceable coupling component which engages their teeth. The jaws (5) are supported in the lengthways direction (4) of the chuck directly on the drive jaw (4). The basic and clamp jaws have a radial guide groove (11), which serves for radial adjustment and retention when a coupling piece (2) is disengaged.
