A bulkhead or similar wall may by penetration of a pipe through the bulkhead be made totally gas tight and at the same time noise-free, by the sealing utilised for the penetration being two-parted and each part designed with a flange portion 6a, 6'a and an annular portion 6b, 6'b and adapted to be inserted with the annular portion into the circular interspace between a pipe socket 2 inserted into a hole in the bulkhead and cylindrical intermediate piece 3 inserted into said pipe socket, and with the flange portion 6a, 6'a abutting against the pipe socket 2 and the flange 7, 7a, whereby metal rests against the resilient material of the sealing, the total axial width of the sealing being larger than the length of the annular interspace. <IMAGE>
