The system utilises the heat contained in the flue gases from a building heating installation, the latter incorporating a solid-, liquid-, or gaseous fuel-fired burner and a boiler. It comprises a jacket (2) with inlet (4) and outlet (6) inserted in the flue (16), and a water passage (10) inside the jacket. A water inlet (12) and outlet (14) extends through the latter, and is connected in the heating water circuit upstream of the boiler. The minimum inner cross-section of the jacket can be greater than the inner cross-section of the flue.
