Computer based recording system for clinical interrogation - sorts data according to classification entered on keyboard

The physical position of records on tape are identified by start and end codes with special classifying codes being added manually by pressing encoded keys thus classifying the contents of these section clinically and chronologically. The codes are then stored as data blocks and sorted according to classification. They may then be recalled as selected by the doctor. The system comprises a micro-computer with keyboard, backing store and cassette recorder. A hand-held input appliance is equipped with columns and rows of keys at the intersection of which are LEDs forming a coordinate system for correlating the chronological and clinical data entered via the keys. Recording and classifying clinical interrogation of patients on magnetic tape eliminates the distraction to doctor and patient caused by the need for writing down details of the interrogation.
